Corporate Dividend Policy: A Study of Commercial Banks of Nepal

Dividend policy is the policy used by a company to decide how much it will pay out to shareholders in dividends. Taking financial indicators of 8 commercial banks for the period of 1996/97 to 2006/07, this study attempts to elucidate the dividend practices of commercial banks of Nepal. Abound by controversies and unpredictability, this study concludes that commercial banks of Nepal do not show uniform trend of dividend policy. Dividend policy practiced by commercial banks of Nepal is neither fully explained by residual theory nor stable theory. With the development of financial institutions in Nepal, they need to follow a robust method of dividend policy so that investors can predict stock market and make a rationale investment decision.

Association between Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction of College Teachers

Colleges should motivate the teachers for their job satisfaction in order to enhance the performance of the organizations. This paper examines the association between work motivation and job satisfaction of teachers. With convenient sampling technique, only 112 responses are usable out of 150 questionnaires distribution to the teachers of university constituent, affiliated and plus two campuses/ colleges in Kathmandu valley. Using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis, the study analyses the work motivation and job satisfaction of the teachers. The study concludes that there is a positive association between work motivation and job satisfaction of teachers.

Export Management Approach for Nepal

The objective of this paper is to show the export management approach for Nepal as envisaged in the development plans, policies, and programs. Some useful lessons of Asian experiences on economic development are also pointed out in the context of Nepal's endeavors towards economic development. Export growth model sketch has been used to show export trade scenario. It also highlights major issues of export management in Nepal drawing the conclusion from the periodic plans, trade policy and Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS).

Green Economy: In Pursuance of Sustainable Development

We have reached a time where the understanding of development should not be pursued in isolation but should best be interfaced with nature for an improved and sustained quality of life. The pursuit of green economy requires a considerable change in our approach to development wherein the greening of the sectors needs to be planned at the very outset of the process. This paper, has conceptualized, and discusses strategic thrust, sectoral integration, management dynamism and institutional and policy regime as a basic embodiment in a green economic framework. It may involve mobilisation of additional resources but is worth an investment for all smiles in near future. Green Economy Framework is a critical stepping in leading to sustainable development which is indeed an ability to transform from one phase of the timeline to the other phase.
