Author Guidelines

  1. Journal of Nepal Chemical Society publishes original research and review articles in chemistry. The articles should be concise and clear. The medium of the journal will be English. Two copies of the manuscripts intended for publication should be forwarded to the Chief-Editor, Nepal Chemical Society, G.P.O. Box 6145, Kathmandu, Nepal.

  2. The submission of a paper will be held to imply that it represents the results of original research not previously published and that if accepted for JNCS it will not be published elsewhere. All papers are referred.

  3. General Presentation
    Manuscripts    : The articles may be submitted either in the form of full length papers or short communications. The length of the articles (including tables and figures) should be the following: full length paper about 10 typed pages; and review articles about 20 typed pages. The manuscript should be typed nearly in double spacing on good quality paper (35 cm x 20 cm). In general, there shall not be more than one review article per volume of the journal occasionally. Book reviews shall also be published.

  4. A full length paper should usually be divided into the following parts: title, authors’ name and address of the institute, abstract (not exceeding more than 5% of the paper), introduction, experimental methods, results, discussion, conclusions and references. If necessary, results and discussion may be combined together. No such arrangements are required for short communication and review articles. However, they should be accompanied by abstracts. The title should be concise and appropriately informative for indexing.

  5. References: In the text the reference should be cited with numericals. The italics and Latin words should be underlined. The reference citation should be done in the following way.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
