Author Guidelines
Our Nature is the first journal brought out by the Nature Conservation and Health Care Council. The Our Nature places a special emphasis on research papers, miscellaneous notes, and book review in all fields of biological sciences. It also includes papers in the general fields of theoretical, experimental and descriptive ecology and environmental science.
Manuscripts
The object of all paper should be to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely in straightforward language suitable for the moderate specialist. Papers in languages other than English are not usually accepted.
Manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor. Three copies of the manuscript each complete in all respects should be submitted.
A paper is acceptable for publication on the understanding that it has not been submitted or published elsewhere.
Manuscripts must be typewritten on one side of the A4 paper, double-spaced with ample margins.
All vernacular names must be underlined and briefly described when appearing for the first time. Scientific names must be given in full with authority (Liza parsia Hamilton-Buchanon) at the first mentioned and abbreviated thereafter (L. parsia), but must be given in full (without authority) in the heading sections, tables and figures. SI and metric units of measurement must be cited.
For research papers, manuscripts should be arranged in the following sequence: Title page, Abstract, Keyword, Text, Acknowledgements, References, Tables and Figures.
Title page includes the title, which should concisely identify the contents and by-line should comprise the author’s name and complete address.
Following the title page, an abstract not exceeding 150 words and typed on a separate sheet should be placed. A list of three to six keywords should follow the abstract.
Text should begin on a fresh page and should normally consist of five sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and References.
References in text should be made in name and year system in chronological order. If more than one paper is given in a single year by the same author, this should be indicated by the suffix, a, b etc. to the year both in the text and the list of references. When reference is made to a work by three or more authors, the first name followed by et al. should be used on all occasions.
Acknowledgements must be placed after the main text and before the References.
Only papers closely related to the author’s work should be quoted and these should wherever possible be original papers rather than reviews. Authors are asked to check the accuracy of all references before submitting a manuscript. References should be listed in alphabetical order. Use the following style for citations.
