At the beginning, STCJ is aimed to be published as an annual Journal, with the aim of making it as a quarterly publication. The Journal will be registered with ISSN (Print and Online) and will be seeking for registration into major databases within the upcoming years.

Scope of the Journal
Journal is open to accept any type of biomedical manuscripts submission, provided they are original in nature, disseminate important information to scientific committee, ethical and of high standard. Authors cannot submit the manuscript if it is previously published or under review process in any journal.

Aims of the Journal:

  • To empower scientific knowledge to the scientific community regarding the advances in biomedical research and health research.
  • To include recent trends and advances in biomedical and scientific research.
  • To generate scientific ideas to promote the status of biomedical research and health research in Nepal.
  • To encourage more and more faculty members and students to publish research articles in scientific journal.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to STCJ will be received by the Managing Editors who examine all files including cover letter, text files, images and figures. If the files meet the technical and formatting requirements of STCJ, authors will be sent an acknowledgement of the manuscript along with a Manuscript ID number. After assigning the Manuscript ID number, the manuscript will be sent for editorial review and external expert peer review. Authors will be requested to quote the manuscript ID number in all correspondences with STCJ. If the manuscript files do not meet the technical requirements of the journal, authors will be sent detailed instructions about the changes required in the manuscript and asked to resubmit the files to Managing Editor. After the files pass the technical and formatting requirements, the manuscript is assigned to a member of the Editorial Board.

The Editor(s) will review the manuscript and return the manuscript along with their comments to the Managing Editors. The editorial process will give the editors the authority to reject any manuscript, if it does not meet the scientific publishing standards or is out of scope of the journal. Based on the comments of the Editor(s) the manuscript will be sent for external double-blind peer review. The manuscript will be usually sent to two to three expert peer reviewers. After the peer reviewers will return the manuscript with their comments, the manuscript with reviewers and Editor's comments will be sent to the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief will review the manuscript and the comments and will recommend suitability of the manuscript for publication in STCJ. Based on the Editor-in-Chief's comments the first decision on acceptance of the manuscript will be taken. The authors will be promptly informed of the acceptance/rejection of the manuscript. The reviewers comments will also sent to the authors with the decision. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors will be sent instructions about how to respond to the reviewer's comments and make changes in the manuscript. At this stage, based on the reviewer's comments, the manuscript may need changes to text, figures, tables etc. If the authors feel that they are not satisfied with the editorial decision about publication of the manuscript, authors may appeal the decision. After author's response to reviewer's comments will be received, the manuscript will be reviewed by the assigned editor and if required the manuscript will be sent again to the reviewers for their comments. After editors have reviewed the manuscript and the responses, final decision about publication of the manuscript, will be taken. The authors will be promptly informed of the decision.

After acceptance of the manuscript, it may be edited for grammar, punctuation, style and accuracy. An edited, pre-print, proof of the manuscript with all figures, table and charts included, will be sent to the corresponding author for approval. The proof will be sent as a PDF file. The authors will also be sent a form as a Microsoft Word document, which the authors can use to submit any changes required in the manuscript. Please note that at this stage only the type-setting like incorrect punctuation will be corrected. It will not be possible to make any significant changes to the text or add or delete figures. The proofs need to be returned to the Editorial Office within three days (72 hours). After the corrected proofs are received by the Editorial Office, the final version of the manuscript will be prepared for publication.
