This paper aims to explore the factors influencing consumer intentions to purchase Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Jhapa District, Nepal. It examines the impact of environmental concern, cost-benefit, technological concern, social influence, and charging infrastructure on purchase intention from the perspectives of the Theory of Planned Behavior, Diffusion of Innovation Theory, and technology acceptance perspectives. It employs a descriptive causal research design. The main data were collected from electric vehicle users (N = 400) through a structured questionnaire. The data are analyzed using statistical tools including descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate environmental concern and social influence, cost-benefit, charging infrastructure, and technological concern are the most important driving factors that have a significant and positive effect on EV purchase intentions. It brings empirical facts from the district-level context in Nepal to the study and suggests policy directions for sustainable development of transportation.
