Abstract

This study examines how embedded fintech strategies shape growth performance in global ride-hailing and food-delivery platforms under varying governance conditions. Using the Embedded Fintech Platform Adoption Dataset covering 14 publicly listed platforms across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East from 2018 to 2025, the study investigates the effects of in-app payment integration, embedded credit and wallet services, and data-driven financial personalization on platform growth outcomes. A moderated regression framework is employed to evaluate the conditioning role of platform governance quality across user base expansion, transaction volume growth, revenue diversification, and platform loyalty retention. The findings indicate that in-app payment integration significantly accelerates user acquisition and transaction activity by reducing transactional friction. Embedded credit and wallet services strengthen revenue diversification and retention by increasing user dependence and facilitating financial interactions within the platform ecosystem. Data-driven financial personalization enhances loyalty through behavioral reinforcement and targeted engagement mechanisms. The results further reveal that governance quality significantly amplifies the effectiveness of embedded fintech strategies by strengthening trust, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability. The study contributes a governance-sensitive growth architecture that explains why platforms deploying similar fintech capabilities often experience divergent growth trajectories. The findings extend platform and fintech strategy theory while offering practical guidance for platform managers and policymakers seeking sustainable growth in increasingly regulated digital ecosystems.
