Main objective of the research is to assess and describe MU student's knowledge and real life practices in the course of their career goal setting efforts and getting desired success. Thematic analysis associated with qualitative approach was used to analyze qualitative data derived from students studying at Mid-West University School of Management (MUSOM), Central Campus of Education and Central Campus of Humanities and Social Sciences. To explore and describe the ways students perceive career goal setting process, experience faculty member's teaching, view linkage between courses and career, importance of hearing parents, conducting internship, ideological influence, pressure, and network in terms of shaping career path. 220 graduates were asked questions related to career goal setting and practices via email and group interview. Six themes were generated from the data collected through the purposive sampling. 20 students were provided the list of questions for collection of more comprehensive information and 200 students were provided just list of activities they could use when developing career goal. The interpreted data offers the conclusion that graduates lacked analytical skill to contextualize their understanding. But they clearly understood different activities such as seminar, presentation, workshop, research, networking, planning and developing communication and leadership skills, and continued reading for making them aware of developing relevant career goal and achieving practical outcomes.</p> Sushil Kumar Shahi Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Entrepreneurship & Management Studies 2024-03-22 2024-03-22 1 1 1 16 10.3126/jems2.v1i1.64043 Behavioral Factors Influencing Investment Decision of Individual Investor at Nepalese Stock Market https://www.nepjol.info/index.php/jems2/article/view/64044 <p>The investment decision of individual investor is influenced by macro/micro economic and behavioral factors. Interest rate, economic growth, inflation, government policy, technological developments, etc., are the macro-economic factors, and firm size, book-to-market equity, cash flow yield, earnings yield, and dividend yield, etc. are the micro-economic factors whereas accounting information, advocate suggestion, personal financial needs, social relevance, self-image/firm-image coincidence, etc. are the behavioral factor. This paper has analyzed the perception of investor on the selected behavioral factors that makes influence on individual investor's investment decisions at Nepalese stock market. Using the structured survey questionnaire, this study concludes that behavioral factors have significant influence on investment decision of individual investor. This study revealed that to get rich quickly, reputation of the firm, feelings for a firm’s products and services, and firm status in industry are the major influencing Self–image/Firm-image factor. On the other hand, friend or coworker's recommendations, family member opinion, and broker recommendation are the most significant influencing Advocate Recommendation factors. Similarly, return maximizing, stock marketability, ease of obtaining borrowed funds, and expected dividends are the major Personal Financial Needs factors, and past trends of stock, information of dividend, price level of other stock, and information of the stock market are the major Market Information factors for influencing investment decision of individual investor at Nepalese stock market.</p> Purna Man Shrestha Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Entrepreneurship & Management Studies 2024-03-22 2024-03-22 1 1 17 26 10.3126/jems2.v1i1.64044 Impact of Job Environment on Performance of Private School Teachers in Birendranagar https://www.nepjol.info/index.php/jems2/article/view/64045 <p>Many researchers claim that competencies and thus performance of teachers depend upon their attitude towards job related factors experienced by them. However, this relationship is unknown in out context. This study thus explores if the attitudes and satisfaction of the teachers working in private schools of Birendranagar toward salary, work policy, social environment, career development opportunity and work life balance have any relationship with job performance. This research uses multiple regression analysis to arrive at the conclusion based on the data collected from 104 samples of teachers from thirteen private schools who were selected using convenient sampling method. Survey was done using a questionnaire developed after review of the literature in national and international contexts. Performances of the samples were established based on the rating by the principals of the respective schools on different relevant dimensions. We found that salary had significant impact on the performance whereas the other independent variables–work policy, social environment, career development opportunities and work life balance were not found having significant relationship on job performance. This study helps the school principals and administrators understand a roadmap for good performance management and build performance oriented culture by ensuring positive workplace experience in employees. Women entrepreneurship is one of the many tools to empower not only economically but also personally, socially and politically. This study was conducted in one of the least developed district of Nepal, Bardiya. Study was focused on Tharu community Dalla Gaaun Home stay. Study was conducted in November (5-7) 2020 for three days. These home stays are operated by Tharu community which is indigenous community of Nepal. Researchers used number of tools to collect the data of population. Unstructured questionnaire were also prepared for the evidence and were filled by closely observing the respondents. The study was set up since there was no trade policy formulated by the Karnali Province Government till the date. The study has also consulted the trade policy of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar based on province level and India, China, and the United States as well for national level. It has been explored based on the major five constructs such as socio-economic condition, trade education, geographical condition, connectivity and networking as well as the government priority. The study adopted mixed method research design guided by pragmatic research philosophy. The primary data were collected from political leaders, businessmen, critics and think-tank and ordinary consumer of Karnali Province. The tool for data collection was questionnaire.
