नेपालको एकीकरणमा बानियाँ वंशको योगदान {Contribution of Baniya Dynasty in Unification of Nepal}

ऋषिमुनिहरूको तपोभूमि तथा पृथ्वीनारायण शाह र राम शाह जस्ता राजाहरू जन्माउने गोरखा जिल्लामा छ थर र १२ थरमध्येका बानियाँ वंशजले नेपालको एकीकरण कार्यमा द्रव्य शाहको समयदेखि नेपाल अङ्ग्रेज युद्धसम्मको भूमिकाको खोजी यस लेखमा गरिएको छ । नेपालको एकीकरण कार्यमा बानियाँ वंशजले कस्तो भूमिका निर्वाह गरे, गोरखा दरवारमा रहेको गोरखकालीको पूजाआजामा बानियाँ वंशजको भूमिका, पृथ्वीनारायण शाहलाई बचाउन खेलेको भूमिका, बानियाँहरू अनुशासन तथा कर्तव्यपरायण रहेको, उनीहरूको वीरता, राजालाई आवश्यकपरेको बेला राय सल्लाहका साथै स्वदेशी तथा विदेशी युद्धमा गोरखाका बानियाँहरूको योगदानको बारेमा वर्णन गर्ने जमर्को यस लेखमा गरिएको छ । पुस्तकालयीय स्रोतका सामग्रीलाई सामग्रीलाई मुख्य आधार बनाएर अन्वेषणात्मक विधिका माध्यमबाट ऐतिहासिक तथ्यको खोजी गरिएको छ । प्राप्त सूचना, तथ्य र जानकारी अनुसार कर्णाली प्रदेशको सिञ्जामा मूल थलो रहेका बानियाँहरूले गोरखामा शाहवंशीय राज्य स्थापना, लिगलिगकोटबाट द्रव्य शाहलाई गोरखा ल्याउने तथा गोरखाबाट पृथ्वीनारायण शाह तथा उनका सन्ततिको विश्वासपात्रका रूपमा विभिन्न पदमा रही इमानदारी र वीरतापूर्वक नेपालको एकीकरणको अभियानमा निकै महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निर्वाह गरेको देखिन्छ ।

न्यायिक समितिको न्याय निरूपण प्रक्रिया {Adjudication of Justice adopted by Judicial Committee's}

नेपालमा सङ्घीयताको अभ्याससँगै नयाँ नयाँ कार्य पद्धतिहरू कार्यान्वयनमा आएका छन् । स्थानीय तहमा न्यायिक समितिको गठन र न्यायिक समिति मार्फत न्याय निरूपण गर्ने प्रव्रिmयाको थालनी यसैको एउटा उदाहरण हो । न्यायिक समिति र यसको न्याय निरूपण प्रक्रियामा केन्द्रित रहेर यस लेखले पालिकाहरूमा नवीन निकायका रूपमा स्थापित न्यायिक समितिको न्याय निरूपण प्रक्रियालाई विस्तृत रूपमा अध्ययन गरी एउटा निष्कर्षमा पुग्ने प्रयास गरेको छ । यस लेखको उद्देश्य न्यायिक समितिको न्याय सम्पादनको अवस्थाको पहिचान गर्नु र न्यायिक समिति मार्फत भएका न्याय निरूपणको प्रभाव विश्लेषण गर्नु रहेको छ । गुणात्मक अनुसन्धान विधिमा आधारित रहेको यस अध्ययनमा उद्देश्यमूलक नमुना छनोट विधिको प्रयोग गरी अध्ययनका सहभागीको छनोट गरिएको छ भने आवश्यक तथ्याङ्क तथा जानकारी अन्तर्वार्ता, टेलिफोन सम्पर्क र पुस्तकालय अध्ययनवाट सङ्कलन गरिएको छ ।

उक्त तथ्याङ्कलाई व्यवस्थित रूपमा विभिन्न शीर्षक र उपशीर्षक राखी सिलसिलेवर रूपमा विश्लेषण गरी प्रस्तुत गरिएको छ । अध्ययनको व्रmममा प्राप्त भएका तथ्याङ्क विश्लेषणका आधारमा स्थानीय तहको न्यायिक समितिमा दर्ता भएका विवादहरूलाई न्यायिक समितिले मेलमिलापको माध्यमबाट निरूपण गरेको र मेलमिलाप हुन नसकेका विवादहरूलाई आफैले निरूपण गरेको देखिन्छ । स्थानीय तहबाटै न्याय निरूपण हुँदा सेवाग्राहीले बढी समय र झन्झट खेप्नु नपरेको र मेलमिलापमार्फत गरिएको न्याय निरूपणले समाजमा सामाजिक सद्भाव र सहिष्णुताको भावनाको विकास गराएको देखिन्छ । न्यायिक समितिले स्थानीय स्तरमा न्याय निरूपण गरेर देशको सङ्घीयताको अनुभूति आम जनमानसमा दिलाउन प्रयत्नरत रहेको देखिन्छ । यसबाट देशमा न्यायको क्षेत्रमा सर्वसाधारण जनताले लिनुपर्ने परामर्श, गर्नुपर्ने विचार विमर्श तथा काम, कर्तव्यका सन्दर्भमा जनचेतना अभिवृद्धि हुँदै गएको, आपराधिक गतिविधिहरू गाउँ परिवेशमा कम हुने गरेका र जटिल प्रकृतिका मुद्दा बाहेक सामान्य विवादहरूलाई स्थानीय निकायमार्फत समाधान गरेको पाइयो । पाप्तिका आधारमा न्यायिक समितिको भूमिका प्रभावकारी बन्दै गइरहेको हुनाले सङ्घीय शासन पद्धतिलाई सापेक्षित रूपमा प्रभावकारी बनाउनका लागि पनि न्यायिक समितिलाई अधिकार सम्पन्न वनाई न्याय निरूपणका लागि आवश्यक पर्ने ज्ञान सीप र प्रशिक्षण प्रदान गर्नु आवश्यक देखिन्छ ।

नेपाली व्याकरण शिक्षण गर्दा अपनाइएका कार्यकलापहरूको अध्ययन {Study of The Activities Adopted While Teaching Nepali Grammar}

प्रस्तुत आलेख व्याकरण शिक्षण गर्दा अपनाइएका कार्यकलापहरूको अध्ययनमा केन्द्रित छ । अध्ययनलाई पूर्णता प्रदान गर्न कक्षा ६ को पाठ्यक्रमले निर्देश गरेका व्याकरणका क्षेत्रलाई आधार बनाई सम्बन्धित शिक्षकहरूबाट तथ्य सङ्कलन र विश्लेषण गरिएको छ । यसरी अध्ययनलाई अगाडि बढाउन सामग्री सङ्कलनका विधिको रूपमा क्षेत्रीय अध्ययन विधि उपयोग गरिएको छ भने सामग्री विश्लेषण विधिको रूपमा वर्णनात्मक एवं विश्लेषणात्मक विधि अवलम्बन गरिएको छ । अध्ययन समग्रतामा व्याकरण शिक्षण गर्दा अधिकांश शिक्षकहरूले निगमनात्मक पद्धतिकेन्द्रित कार्यकलापहरूको प्रयोग गरेको तथ्यबाट पुष्टि हुन्छ । कतिपय कार्यकलापहरू विद्यार्थीको शैक्षणिक तथा मनोवैज्ञानिक स्तरभन्दा कठिन रहेका छन् । कक्षा अवलोकन र प्रश्न प्रतिक्रियाका आधारमा यी कठिन कार्यकलाप सञ्चालन गर्न शिक्षक प्रयत्नशील भएपनि परिणाम अपेक्षाअनुसार नआउने देखिन्छ । व्याकरणको आधारभूत अवधारणा शिक्षण गर्नुपर्ने कक्षा ६ का विद्यार्थीहरूलाई स्तरअनुसार थप कार्यकलापमा आवृत्त गराउन भाषा पाठ्यपुस्तक विधि तथा भाषा संसर्ग विधिअनुरूप समुचित कार्यकलापहरू प्रयोग प्रयत्न आवश्यक छ । यद्यपि व्याकरणको क्षेत्रगत वैशिष्ट्यता अध्ययन गरी आगमनात्मक पद्धतिअनुसार कार्यकलाप निर्धारण र प्रयोग अभ्यास गर्नु गराउनु आवश्यक रहेको छ । वस्तुतः शिक्षकहरूमा व्याकरण शिक्षणप्रति रहेको रूचि र तत्परताले उचित कार्यकलाप व्यवस्थापन तथा प्रशासन गर्न सक्षम रहेका छन् ।

वैकल्पिक शिक्षाले वर्तमान समयमा परम्परागत रूपमा चलिरहेको शिक्षा प्रर्णालीको विकल्पमा प्रदान गरिने

शिक्षा पद्धतिलाई जनाउँछ । यस किसिमको शिक्षाले विभिन्न कारणले गर्दा शिक्षाको मूल धारमा आउन नसकेका व्यक्तिहरूलाई शैक्षिक अवसर तथा पहुँच प्रदान गर्ने कार्यमा माध्यमको रूपमा काम गर्दछ । कोभिड महामारीले निम्याएको स्वास्थ्य सङ्कटसँगै बैकल्पिक शिक्षाको आवश्यकता बढ्दै गएको परिवेशमा यस अध्ययनलाई विभिन्न किसिमका रोगहरूको चपेटामा समाज गुज्रँदा वैकल्पिक माध्यम के हुन सक्छ भन्ने सन्दर्भमा केन्द्रित गरिएको छ । अनलाइन कक्षाको सन्दर्भ तथा यसको प्रभावकारीता पहिचान गर्ने उद्धेश्य राखी तयार पारिएको यस लेखमा अनलाइन कक्षाले विश्वव्यापी महामारीको अवस्थामा मात्र नभई सामान्य अवस्थामा पनि कसरी वैकल्पिक शिक्षण सिकाइको माध्यमका रूपमा काम गर्न सक्छ भन्ने कुरालाई उजागर गरिएको छ । गुणात्मक विधिमा आधारित रहेर गोरखा नगरपालिकामा अवस्थित एक विद्यालयका शिक्षक र विद्यार्थीसँग अन्तक्र्रिया विधि मार्फत् तथ्यांकमा सङ्कलन गरि त्यसैका आधारमा यो लेख तयार गरिएको छ । प्राप्त सुचना र तथ्यांकको विश्लेषणबाट वर्तमान समयमा अनलाइन शिक्षा सामान्य शिक्षाको विकल्प मात्र नभइ समग्र शिक्षाको आवश्यक अंशका रूपमा कार्यान्वयनमा आएको पाइएको छ ।समय सापेक्ष आधुनिक शिक्षा पद्धतिको एउटा आवश्यकीय प्रक्रियाको रूपमा वैकल्पिक शिक्षालाई सरोकारवालाहरूले लिएको देखिन्छ । अध्ययनको प्राप्तिका आधारमा वैकल्पिक शिक्षालाई अनलाइन शिक्षा पद्धतिसँग जोडेर प्रविधिको प्रयोगसँगै प्रभावकारी शिक्षण सिकाइ क्रियाकलाप अगाडि बढाउनु आजको आवश्यकता रहेको छ ।

प्रस्तुत लेख विद्यार्थीहरूको भाषा सिकाइ उपलब्धि क्षमताको परीक्षणमा केन्द्रित छ । यस लेखमा माध्यमिक तह अन्तर्गत मूलतः कक्षा नौमा अध्ययनरत विद्यार्थीहरूको भाषा सिकाइ क्षमताको परीक्षण गरी सिकाइ उपलब्धिको विश्लेषणसमेत गरिएको छ । प्रस्तुत लेखको उद्देश्य कक्षा नौमा अध्ययनरत विद्यार्थीहरूको भाषा सिकाइ क्षमता पत्ता लगाउनु रहेको छ । यस लेखको तयारीका क्रममा परिमाणात्मक अनुसन्धान ढाँचाको अनुप्रयोग गरिएको छ । यसमा स्थलगत अध्ययन पद्धतिको प्रयोग गरी सामग्री सङ्कलन गरिएको छ । यस लेखको तयारीका क्रममा प्राथमिक र द्वितीयक स्रोतबाट सामग्री सङ्कलन गरिएको छ । भाषा सिकाइ क्षमता सम्बन्धी जम्मा १६ पूर्णाङ्कको प्रश्नावली निर्माण गरी सामुदायिक र संस्थागत गरी चार विद्यालयका जम्मा ८० जना विद्यार्थीमा निर्मित प्रश्नावली परीक्षण गरी प्राप्त तथ्याङ्कको विश्लेषण गरिएको छ । विश्लेषण गर्दा विद्यार्थीहरूमा भाषा सिकाइ उपलब्धि (भाषातत्व पहिचान, प्रयोग र पठनबोध) क्षमता मध्यम खालको रहेको निष्कर्ष प्राप्त भएको छ । प्रस्तुत लेखले निर्दिष्ट विषय क्षेत्रमा अध्ययन, अनुसन्धान गर्न चाहने तथा यस विषयमा सरोकार राख्नेहरूलाई नीतिगत तथा प्रयोगात्मक तहमा सहयोग पुर्याउने विश्वास गरिएको छ ।

शैक्षिक क्षेत्रमा कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानले प्रभावकारी शिक्षण र पेसागत विकासका लागि शिक्षक अनुसन्धानकर्ताको ध्यान आकर्षित गरेको पाइन्छ । सिकाइ सहजीकरणका व्रmममा शिक्षकले भोगेका समस्या समाधान गर्न प्रभावकारी रूपमा कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धान सञ्चालन गर्न शिक्षकमा कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धान सिप र यसका आधारभूत पक्षको जानकारी आवश्यक हुन्छ । कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानका बारेमा शिक्षकको दृष्टिकोण र यससम्बन्धी उनीहरूले भोगेका समस्या र अपेक्षाको पहिचान गर्न सकिएको खण्डमा शिक्षकमा अनुसन्धानप्रतिको उत्प्रेरणा जगाउन सक्ने हुनाले यस लेखले कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानका सम्बन्धमा शिक्षकको धारणा, अनुभव र अपेक्षालाई उजागर गर्ने उद्देश्य राखेको छ । गुणात्मक अनुसन्धान ढाँचामा आधारित भई यस लेखमा माध्यमिक तहका पाँच जना नेपाली भाषा शिक्षकलाई सहभागीका रूपमा लिई अन्तर्वार्ताका माध्यमबाट प्राप्त सूचनालाई रूपान्तरण, समूहीकरण र थिममा आबद्ध गरी अर्थापनसहित विश्लेषण गर्दै पूर्वसाहित्यसँग तुलनात्मक विश्लेषण गरी निष्कर्षमा पुगिएको छ । अध्ययनको प्राप्तिअनुसार नेपालको विद्यालय तहका शिक्षकमा कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानको अवधारणा र यसको उपदेयताका सम्बन्धमा स्पष्टता भए पनि यसको कार्यान्वयनका सन्दर्भमा शिक्षकको अधिक कार्यबोझ, अनुसन्धानको वातावरणको अभाव, अनुसन्धानका लागि वृत्तिको अनुपलब्धता तथा कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानको उचित मूल्याङ्कनको अभाव, अनुसन्धानलाई शिक्षकको वृत्ति विकाससँग जोड्न नसक्नु जस्ता कारणले कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानलाई प्रभावकारी ढङ्गले उपयोग गर्न नसकिएको जस्ता कारणले समस्या उत्पन्न भएकाले व्यावहारिक र प्रयोगात्मक ढङ्गले कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धान गर्ने सिप विकास गर्न नसकिएको कारण शिक्षकको निरन्तर पेसागत विकासको औजारका रूपमा यसलाई सार्थक रूपमा उपयोग गर्न नसकिएको निष्कर्ष निकालिएको छ । कार्यमूलक अनुसन्धानको सिप शिक्षकहरूमा विकास गरी यसलाई शिक्षकको निरन्तर पेसागत विकासको माध्यमका रूपमा उपयोग गरी यसका माध्यमबाट शैक्षिक गुणस्तरमा सुधार गर्नु आवश्यक छ ।

This book recommends a variety of techniques including field trip, laboratory techniques, science competitions, and different ways of assessments. The Effect of The Corona Virus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic on The Learning Situation

The global pandemic of Corona Virus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) adversely affected the various aspects of human life. There was a severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the academic years 2076, 2077, and 2078 BS in the Nepalese education system. Though other sectors of the nation have been affected by such a pandemic, significant influence of it has been seen in the education sector. In this regard, this paper aims to explore the effect of the Corona Virus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on classroom instruction and to find out the challenges of virtual and face-to-face modes of school education. This research work follows qualitative design. Purposive sampling method was used to select the participants and the data were collected through open ended interviews, observation checklists, and focus group discussion. The analysis has been made in thematic way following the rigor of qualitative research. The study shows a great effects of the Corona Virus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on the school education of Gorkha municipality. The virtual mode of instruction has been seen less effective during COVID-19 pandemic situation in the study area. Physical classes were effectively conducted before and after the pandemic. Several challenges have been noted in the virtual mode of instruction. They include the lack of internet access, limited access to electronic devices, and a lack of electricity in the district. The findings of the study entail that the blended mode could be more suitable to the students studying in the schools of Gorkha Municipality which could create opportunities for face-to-face and virtual learning together if they can be supported with easy access to the internet and electronic devices.

Teaching Mathematics Through Online at the University Level: An Ethnographic Inquiry

Teaching mathematics at the university level expects a more complex form of algorithmic and theoretical exploration which sometimes could not be delivered as enough as the curriculum demands. In this context, this study primarily focused on exploring the opportunities and challenges of online classes while teaching-learning mathematics at the university level. It is an ethnographic study in which three students and a teacher who had a long experience in online teaching-learning practices were taken as the key respondents. The key informants were requested for writing the reflection about their experiences of learning mathematics through online mode. And, the responses of the students were analyzed and presented in different themes. Based on the responses of the key respondent students, poor networking, unavoidable disturbance, teacher’s artificial pretending, negligence of the teachers, and less ICT-friendly curriculum & teachers were found as the major challenges for the online class. From the perspective of teachers' preparing documents for teaching, students’ negligence, ICT being used only as a means of sharing, taking more time to complete the course, less interactive class, and evaluating the students were found as the major challenges. However, online education provided the teachers and student both with a friend in crisis, sitting home reaching school, reducing unnecessary expenditures, and utilizing video records of the classes. Similarly, for teachers; providing opportunities for professional development, web browsing, any time anywhere teaching-learning, and developing the skills for designing different online evaluation tools have been observed as the major opportunities. Based on these conclusions, even having many challenges of using ICT in teaching university mathematics, its appropriate use leads for the deeper and wider understanding of mathematical contents.

The Emergency Contraceptive Pills: Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice among Students at Gorkha Campus

Unplanned and unwanted pregnancy is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity in South Asia. Despite the availability of a range of modern and effective contraceptives, unwanted and unplanned pregnancies continue to occur. Emergency contraception is a method to prevent pregnancy in women who have had unprotected sex or when birth control methods have failed. A cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of students of Gorkha Campus regarding Emergency Contraception Pills (ECP). Total 98 respondents were selected using the census sampling technique, with self-administered questionnaires for data collection. Out of the total sample, most of the respondents were female (88%) , nearly three-quarters (72%) were from age18 to 21 years, and more than half were Janajati. Only 35% of the respondents knew that I-Pill is ECP, while half of them did not know the best time to use it. It was a pity that only more than a fifth (22.4%) of the respondents had adequate knowledge on ECP. The mean score of knowledge was 1.31, and St.deviation was 1.30. The student’s streams of education were significantly associated with adequate knowledge, P<0.5 and the rest of the variables were insignificant. Thought the knowledge of ECP was low, had a positive attitude towards ECP, and only few (7%) of the respondent had used the ECP till the date of data collection. Based on the study finding, educational intervention related to ECP is recommended for the students of Gorkha campus.

Empowering Students’ Language Learning Strategies through Effective Teaching: Insights from Successful Nepalese English Practitioners

English proficiency is a crucial aspect of education in Nepal, as it is in high demand in various professional fields. The development of proficiency depends on the strategies used in learning. So, this study aims to explore the learning strategies used by Nepalese English practitioners to develop their English proficiency over different time spans. The study also examines to what extent these strategies were influenced by formal teaching and teachers. The study collected English learning stories from twenty English practitioners across various parts of Nepal via email. Using the ‘analysis of narratives’ framework, also known as the ‘paradigmatic mode of analysis,’ the narratives were analysed to identify the primary learning strategies employed by the practitioners. The study found that the majority of the practitioners used imitation, recitation, and copying as their primary learning strategies. However, a few practitioners also developed their unique strategies. Formal instruction and teacher encouragement had significant influence on the learning strategies employed by nearly all of the participants. The findings suggest that formal instruction and teacher encouragement play an essential role in shaping the English language learning strategies of Nepalese English practitioners. This study has important implications for language educators as it provides insights into the learning strategies that may be effective in promoting English language proficiency among Nepalese learners.
