About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The goal of publishing Advances in Engineering and Technology: An International Journal is to disseminate the recent knowledge and advances in engineering and technology to solve the contemporary issues and future challenges. The audience of this journal ranges from researchers, academicians, and practitioners in the field of science of engineering. The journal encourages researchers from across the discipline to submit their works in the form of research articles, review papers, letters to the editor, short communications, and discussions. Early career researchers are also encouraged to submit their works. The journal publishes open access articles (online/print), so researchers will have a great opportunity to circulate their works to the broader audience.

The scope of the journal is the following but not limited to:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Information and Technology
  • Automobile/industrial Engineering
  • Infrastructure Engineering
  • Cross disciplinary studies in engineering and technology

Publication Frequency

The journal is published annually.

Peer-Review Process

Advances in Engineering and Technology: An International Journal is a double-blind peer reviewed international journal. Once the authors have submitted their manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief screens the quality of the manuscript. Thereafter, a handling editor is assigned who is responsible for inviting at least two renowned experts in a similar field. In this process, the handling editor knows the reviewers as well as the authors; however, the authors and reviewers do not know each other. Once at least two reviewers send their feedback about the manuscript, the handling editor makes a decision regarding revision or rejection. If the handling editor decides to reject, s/he informs the editor-in-chief regarding his/her decision and the editor-in-chief makes the final decision. If the handling editor decides to see changes in the manuscript before sending for second round of reviews, s/he invites the authors to address the comments from at least two reviewers and the handling editor. Once the authors return the revised manuscript, the handling editor screens if everything is firmly addressed. Thereafter, s/he may return for further improvement or invite reviewers to review the revised manuscript. The reviewers will provide feedback about the revised manuscript and return their views to the handling editor. Based on the comments from the reviewers, the handling editor either recommends acceptance/rejection of the paper or invites the authors once again to address the comments raised by the reviewers. Finally, based on the recommendation from the handling editor, the editor-in-chief sends the final decision to the corresponding author.

The first round of review usually takes place within less than a month. Meanwhile, the second round of review is finished within two weeks. However, some fluctuations based on the reviewers’ availability may occur.

Reviewers are also provided with clear instruction to judge the manuscript based on the following aspects:

  1. Quality/novelty of the contribution
  2. Need for the research and possible implications (theoretical/practical)
  3. Quality of English language
  4. Quality of citation and literature
  5. Quality of illustrations
  6. Is the topic worthy of investigation?
  7. Are the conclusions supported by data?
  8. Is the method replicable?
  9. Is the message of the paper clear?
  10. Does the paper fit into the scope of the journal?
  11. Does the paper report a new idea/result? In the case of the collection of information from others without fulfilling the review article level, please directly reject the manuscript.
  12. In case of possible plagiarism, please also report.

Based on your assessment, please provide your recommendation in terms of
REJECT/ACCEPT/MAJOR REVISIONS (followed by a second round of review)
MINOR REVISIONS (the handling editor will decide based on the revisions made by the authors)/ RESUBMIT
