About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal of Nepalese Association of Pediatric Dentistry (JNAPD) is the official journal of Nepalese Association of Pediatric Dentistry (NAPD) since 2020. It is a biannual, peer-reviewed and open access journal with p-ISSN: 2773-7926 and e-ISSN: 2773-7934 (Online at www.napd.org.np ). It is the first journal in Nepal from Nepalese Pediatric Dentistry that will be covering researches focusing exclusively on the oral health care of children in Nepal/World.

JNAPD is formed to spread knowledge about pediatric dentistry through scientific research and scientific advances by providing a publishing platform to researchers and scholars. The aim of JNAPD is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific articles related to pediatric dentistry at no cost thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. However, if printed or color printing is demanded by the author(s) the cost will be incurred by them.

The journal publishes articles related to researches done in the field of pediatric dentistry by all the disciplines of the medical sciences, medical education, public health, health policy, health care management, including ethical and social issues pertaining to health and care of children's oral health. The journal gives preference to good quality research papers with new findings, clinically oriented studies over experimental and animal studies. JNAPD gives special attention to the articles providing immediate impact to the health and policy of children dental care and will get preferences through fast track review, as well.

The journal is published twice a year.

The Correspondent Author has the right to grant on behalf of all authors and on behalf of all authors, grants a worldwide license to JNAPD and its licensees in all forms, formats and media (whether known now or created in the future) to:

  1. publish, reproduce, distribute, display and store the Contribution,
  2. translate the Contribution into other languages, create adaptations, reprints, include within collections and create summaries, extracts and/or, abstracts of the Contribution,
  3. create any other derivative work(s) based on the Contribution,
  4. to exploit all subsidiary rights in the Contribution,
  5. the inclusion of electronic links from the Contribution to third party material where-ever it may be located; and,
  6. licence any third party to do any or all of the above.

Editorial Processes

The submitted manuscripts are duly acknowledged and preliminary technical reviews are done initially by the editors, reviewed for possible publication with understanding that it is being submitted only to JNAPD and have not been submitted, accepted or being published elsewhere. Manuscripts with insufficient originality serious scientific and technical flaws, or lacking significant message have less chances of acceptance. In cases of a good article that has been written poorly, the authors are asked to resubmit after being revised by the editors. Manuscripts are sent to two experts for peer reviewing where authors identity will not be revealed and vice versa. The authors are informed about the modification/acceptance/rejection of the manuscript with the peer reviewer’s comments after peer reviewing. The accepted manuscript should be resubmitted by the authors after making the required changes or clarifying the points accordingly within 7 days. The editors will go through the manuscript and see if the suggestions by the reviewers have been executed or not by the authors before publishing it out in the journal. Articles accepted are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author, which has to be returned within seven days. The final decision on whether to accept or reject the article is taken by Editor-in-Chief on editorial board based on the peer reviewer’s comments.
