Peer Review Process
- The journal is a double blind peer reviewed journal. Once a the paper is received, the author's information is deleted, along with the acknowledgement section before sending it to the reviewers. The articles are sent to three reviewers with one being an international reviewer or reviewer based on a university abroad. The reviewers are selected with at least a PhD in a relevant subject or having a masters degree in transportation and having at least 5 peer reviewed papers published on recognized journals and at least 20 citations.
- Firstly the paper title and abstract are sent to the reviewer to check his/her availability and expertise and provide them with 1 weeks time to confirm their interest in reviewing the paper. Based on their acceptance, the paper will then be sent along with a structured reviewer form with a timeline to submit within 3 weeks. Hence the aim is to complete the review process in 1 month, but it may take 1.5 months for the finalization of reviewer comments.
- After receiving the reviewers’ comments, they are and consolidated and the reviewer data is removed before sending the manuscript it to the author for revision. We will provide the author with 2-3 weeks time for the final submission. The Editorial Board will follow the majority of the reviewers’ comments before sending it to author, for example if there are two reject and one major comment, the submission will be rejected and similarly, there are two major comments and one reject, the submission will be sent to author to revise based on major comments. If there are major comments, the relevant editorial member verifies the changes.
- Based on the final revision, the final decision will be taken by the Editorial Board. If the reviewers’ comments were “Minor Changes”, the article will be accepted provided all required revision are made. If the paper has “Major Revision Required”, it will be reverified by the relevant expert within the editorial team and upon verification, it will either be “accepted” or will be sent to author for “final revision” if some comments are still pending.
