About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Nepalese Journal of Economic Studies publishes peer-reviewed articles covering economic research, theory, and policy related to Nepal and South Asia. The journal aims to serve academics, researchers, and policymakers by promoting analytical work and empirical studies in economics and development studies.
Publication Frequency
Nepalese Journal of Economic Studies publishes one volume a year.

NJES provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The articles in NJES are published under a Creative Commons-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence. This license enables reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in unadapted form only, for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator.
Price for Hard Copies
The Nepalese Journal of Economic Studies is available in both print and open-access digital formats. It provides totally free access to its full text online. All articles are openly accessible without any registration, subscription, or payment.
Charges for hard copies are as follows:
Per copy (Individual): NRs. 300
Per copy (Institution): NRs. 500
Peer Review Process
Double-blind peer review. Each submitted manuscript is reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers. The review process usually takes 3–6 weeks. Final publication decisions are made by the Chief Editor in consultation with the editorial board, based on reviewer feedback.
