About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Prajñā Journal of Buddhist Studies is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Lumbini Buddhist University, Nepal. Since its establishment in 2020, the journal has primarily disseminated research contributions from PhD scholars and has progressively expanded to include seminar papers and broader academic submissions. From its sixth issue onward, Prajñā has been formally recognized as a peer-reviewed academic journal, reflecting its continued commitment to scholarly rigor and research excellence.
The Journal invites original research articles and scholarly contributions encompassing a wide range of disciplines within Buddhist Studies. Its scope includes, but is not limited to, Buddhist History, Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Literature, Buddhist Culture, Buddhist Art and Architecture, Applied Buddhism, Ethics, Meditation, Comparative Religion.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Articles in Prajñā Journal of Buddhist Studies are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence. This license enables reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in unadapted form only, for noncommercial purposes only, and only if attribution is given to the creator.
Peer Review Process
Initially, a call for pappers is announced through an official notice. Subsequently, the submitted papers are coded and forwarded to the respective reviewers for evaluation. The reviewers' comments and suggestions are then communicated to the authors for the purpose of revising and improving the papers. A double-blind peer review process has been employed throughout the evaluation procedure. The Research Committee at the Faculty of Buddhist Studies selects the submitted abstracts and papers in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
