Evolving Perspectives in Teacher Education: Scope, Context, and Challenges in the Education System Essay

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in holistic social development in which teachers play a central role. Teacher education, thus, focuses on the type of training needed to achieve a particular academic goal because a teacher’s ability directly influences the student’s learning process. In addition to meeting institutional objectives, teachers have a responsibility to contribute to community development. To achieve this, they need professional skills for their own continuous development. However, they also face several challenges in their profession. Therefore, this paper discusses the scope of teacher education, the changing environment of teacher education in the Nepalese context, and the key challenges facing teacher education in order to understand how teacher education meets modern needs.
