Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management: An Integrated Framework

Degree of sophistication of work in the field of Supply Chain Management (SCM) has changed due to emergence of Artificial Intelligent (AI). Therefore, this study aims to explore the recent trends and research opportunities in the field of AI based SCM and develop an integrated framework for the same. The study applies bibliometric techniques to trace the evolution of AI based SCM and proposes the promising themes for future research. The study identified six main research themes through cluster analysis. The identified themes were: (a) ‘Industry Environment Analysis for AI based SCM’, (b) ‘Challenges and Future Directions of AI based SCM Implementation’, (c) ‘Optimization Techniques for AI based SCM’, (d) ‘AI based SCM in Industry 4.0’, (e) ‘Impact of adopting techniques on AI based SCM’, and (f) ‘Planning and Decision making in AI based SCM’. Finally, the researchers proposed the integrated framework revealing the various steps that should be followed for the effective implementation of AI based Supply Chain in Industry 4.0.
