Focus and Scope
The ASTA is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high quality original research papers, reviews, trend articles and short communications. The objective of the journal is to promote industrial development of the country through promotion of education, research and innovations in different areas of applied science and technology. The journal emphasizes on interdisciplinary research works in all disciplines of science and technology spanning experimental, computational and theoretical works in traditional and local as well as in modern technologies. The themes include but not limited to polymers and materials science, machine learning and artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, space, earth, environment and life sciences, as well as engineering and robotics, medicine, agriculture and forestry.
The journal publishes three issues per year.
- First of all, each submission will be preliminarily evaluated by assigned editor. If the paper is not suitable, it will be returned to the author within three days.
- The paper passing the first screening will be sent to two double blind reviewers. Additionally, one of the editors will critically review the paper. Review process will take up to one month.
- The review report and editorial comments will be sent to author(s) giving up to 2 weeks for revision. In case of major revision; the paper will be sent again to one of the reviewers for final evaluation.
- Chief Editor makes the final decision on the paper submission and acceptance.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Sources of Support
The journal is supported by internal funds from the Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST), Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. Applications for support from the Ministries of Education, Science and Technology are being submitted.
