Scope of the Journal

The journal's focus and scope are related but not limited to Health education and pedagogy, Health communication, Health Research, Curriculum Development, School health, Sexual and reproductive health, Child health, Adolescent health, Female health, Elderly health, Community health, Hygiene and sanitation, Environmental health, Universal health coverage, One health, Mental health, Communicable and Non-communicable diseases, Oral Health, Safety and preventive health, Food and nutrition, Consumer Health, Health planning, and other current health promotion issues and concerns.

Peer-Review Process
Journal of Health Promotion (JHP) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. The editors screen the submitted articles at the first step of the review process. The editors can reject the articles if they do not meet the criteria and assigned format. If accepted, the selected articles are sent to peer reviewers to review the manuscripts. Each article is sent to two blind reviewers. The reviewers can reject the articles after assessing the quality of the paper. Finally, the editorial board will decide to publish the articles after checking the similarity (plagiarism) and ethical issues. The editorial board may reject the article if the papers cannot meet the above-mentioned quality criteria.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

We receive a small amount of APC to maintain the journal publication charge. The APC will be of:

  • If the principal author is a life member of HEAN and/or MPhil/PhD research scholar (Nepali) without any funding agency = NRs. 3000
  • If the principal author is Nepali and other than HEAN members = NRs. 4000
  • If the principal author is international author(s) = USD 50

Publication Frequency

The journal is published annually.

Mode of Publication

The journal is published in print and via Nepal Journals Online [NepJol].

Publisher

The Health Education Association of Nepal (HEAN) publishes the journal.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange.

Sources of Support

Funds are obtained from the APC from authors, voluntary donors, and the Health Education Association of Nepal (HEAN)
