About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Nepalese Journal of Aquaculture and Fisheries publishes articles on problems and issues in fisheries science, including aquaculture, in Nepal or those relevant to the Asian region. Acceptable topics include ecosystem and population dynamics, resource assessment, fishing gear technology, fish processing, socio-economics, farming systems, breeding, nutrition, fish health, pollution and aquatic resources management. Only original, unpublished manuscripts not under consideration for publication elsewhere may be submitted. Papers submitted for publication in the journal are not returned. Articles may be research papers, short communications or invited reviews.

Publication Frequency

NJAF publishes one volume a year.

Open Access Policy

Nepalese Journal of Aquaculture and Fisheries provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Policy

NJAF has an editorial board which includes section-wise editors who select reviewers of respective sections. Usually the section editor selects one reviewer per paper. The section editor does a preliminary review of the paper and then after that it is sent to the main reviewer. If the paper quality does not meet the standard of publication, then the section editor recommends for rejection to the Chief Editor. NJAF uses double blind review and the reviewing process may vary from 1 to 3 months.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

NJAF does not charge authors for publication.

Financial Support

Nepal Fisheries Society (NEFIS) supports financially for press design and print cost whereas the editorial team and reviewers work voluntarily.
