Author Guidelines

The Journal of Agriculture and Environment is devoted to the cause of advancing understanding on the various aspects of Agriculture, Farming Systems and Environment through literature review, theoretical analysis, research and practical experiences. Besides research and review papers-case studies, methodological approach, book reviews, reports on seminars and meetings, short communications, and letters to the editors can also find space in the journal. The broad guidelines on writing papers to the authors are as follows:

  1. Papers must be an original work in English and should not be submitted elsewhere for the publication.
  2. Title of the paper should be short and specific but should not also reflect the content of the paper.
  3. The abstract should concisely state the major objective, methodology, main findings and conclusion but should not include diagram, footnotes, equations, or any parenthetical references. The abstract, as far as possible should not exceed 150 words.
  4. Key words should not be more than ten standard words in alphabetical order.
  5. The authors' identification should include the author's name, highest educational attainment, title or designation, organization, address, telephone, fax and email Id.
  6. The main text of the article should include an introduction, objective, theoretical framework, (methodology or material and method), result, discussion and conclusion.
  7. The use of footnotes should be minimized and should not uses for citation.
  8. All headings and subheadings should be capitalized.
  9. Too many graphs and tables should be avoided. Supplementary tables should be placed back at the annex.
  10. The text in the paper should be in MS word format with the following setup:
    Font: Trebuchet MS
    Size: 10-11 points
    Paper: A4 size
    Text Size: Not exceeding 45000 words
  11. References should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style in alphabetical order by author's name. References should also indicate the differences in styles for books, journals, newspapers and other published and unpublished materials. Materials that are not cited in the body of paper must not come under the reference list. Private communications, radio listening and TV watch should not appear in the citation as well as in the reference list.
  12. All papers are subject to security and editorial. The Editor in Chief or the Editorial Board does not take any responsibility for damage or loss of submitted papers and is not compelled to return unaccepted papers to the authors whatsoever.
  13. The paper must be submitted electronically and also a complete set of hard copy to the following address.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g.,
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
