Background
Von Willebrand disease is the most prevalent bleeding disorder encountered by physicians in today’s clinical practice, therefore complete information about this particular disease and its adequate perioperative management is of vital concern for any anaesthesiologist especially in case of surgeries like cesarean section wherein there is already predisposition of massive haemorrhage. Case of 30 years old female, primigravida presented at 37 weeks of gestation for elective cesarean section delivery. She was a known case of type 2 B von Willebrand disease and asthma. She had a positive family history of von Willebrand disease. Patient was provided a successful intravenous propofol anesthetic without complications. We highlight a collaborative approach involving surgeons, anaesthesiologists, haematologists, and nursing staff to optimize patient safety and perioperative comfort. General anaesthesia is the mainstay of induction in such patients.
