Abstract

An effective capital market is conducive for sustained growth through proper resource allocation and savings mobilization. Though progress has been made in terms of volume and involvement of institutions, Nepal’s capital market is still facing many challenges including instability, poor regulation, lack of diversification, and ESG. This study makes use of qualitative approach and data from some of the most important national and international organizations. It is clear from this study that neither macroeconomics nor regulatory framework can ensure sustainable development on its own; stability demands an integrated approach covering regulation, institution, technology, ESG, and investors’ protection
