स्वप्नदृष्टि महाकाव्यमा रसविधान Rasa Structure in the Epic Swapnadristi

Abstract

प्रस्तुत अनुसन्धानात्मक लेखको शीर्षक स्वप्नदृष्टि महाकाव्यमा रसविधान रहेको छ । यो महाकाव्य पूर्वीय महाकाव्य सिद्धान्तले अङ्गीकार गरेको विषयवस्तु, नायक एवम् नायिकाको प्रयोग, मङ्गलाचरण, सर्गान्तमा भावी कथावस्तुको सङ्केतजस्ता मान्यतालाई अङ्गीकार नगरेर यात्रालाई विषयवस्तु बनाई रचना गरिएको महाकाव्य हो । महाकाव्यसम्बन्धी शास्त्रीय मान्यतालाई अङ्गीकार नगरेको यो महाकाव्य रस प्रयोगका दृष्टिले कस्तो  छ ? भन्ने मूल समस्यामा केन्द्रित छ । यो अनुसन्धान लेखमा स्वप्नदृष्टि महाकाव्यमा रसको प्रयोग अवस्था पहिचान गरी निरूपण गर्ने मूल उद्देश्य राखिएको छ । ज्ञवालीका थुप्रै प्रबन्धकाव्यमध्ये यादृच्छिक नमुना छनोट विधिबाट स्वप्नदृष्टि महाकाव्य र स्वप्नदृष्टिलाई पनि रस प्रयोगका दृष्टिले अध्ययन गर्ने गरी छनोट गरिएको छ । प्राथमिक सामग्रीका रूपमा स्वप्नदृष्टि र द्वितीयक स्रोतका रूपमा रससम्बन्धी व्यक्त सैद्धान्तिक मान्यता उल्लेख गरेका पुस्तकहरू प्रयोग गरिएको छ । गुणात्मक ढाँचाको यो अनुसन्धान महाकाव्यमा रहेका श्लोकहरूलाई साक्ष्यका रूपमा उल्लेख गरी रस अवयव र रस निष्पत्ति प्रक्रियाका आधारमा आगमनात्मक विधिबाट विश्लेषण गरिएको छ । विरोधी रसलाई पनि कसरी अङ्गी रसको अङ्ग वा सहयोगी बनाउन सकिन्छ र पूर्वीय महाकाव्यसम्बन्धी मान्यतालाई अङ्गीकार नगरी झिनो कथावस्तुमा पनि महाकाव्यमा नौवटै रसको प्रयोग गरी महाकाव्यलाई कसरी रसमय बनाउन सकिन्छ भन्ने नवीन तथ्य पत्ता लगाउनु यस अनुसन्धान  कार्यको मूल प्राप्ति वा उपलब्धि रहेकाले यो अनुसन्धानात्मक लेखको आफैमा महत्त्व रहेको छ ।

The title of this research article is Rasa Structure in the Epic Swapnadristi. This epic does not follow the conventions prescribed by classical Eastern epic theory, such as the use of a traditional theme, hero and heroine, invocation (mangalacharan), and hints of future narrative at the end of each canto. Instead, it is composed with “journey” as its central theme. The study is centered on the primary research problem: how does this epic, which does not adhere to classical epic conventions, employ rasa (aesthetic sentiment)? The main objective of this research is to identify and analyze the use of rasa in Swapnadristi. Among several narrative poems by Gyawali, Swapnadristi has been selected through a random sampling method, specifically for examining its use of rasa. The primary source of data is Swapnadristi itself, while secondary sources include theoretical texts on rasa. This qualitative study analyzes the verses of the epic as evidence, employing an inductive method based on the components of rasa and the process of rasa realization. The major contribution of this research lies in discovering how even opposing rasas can be integrated as subordinate or supportive elements of the dominant rasa, and how all nine rasas can be effectively employed within a relatively simple narrative to make an epic aesthetically rich—despite not adhering to traditional Eastern epic conventions. This makes the study significant in its own right.
