All parties involved in the publication process including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are expected to adhere to these ethical principles.
Core Ethical Principles
- Originality and Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. All submissions are screened for plagiarism. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification is considered serious misconduct.

Research involving human participants or animals must have been conducted in accordance with recognized ethical standards. Authors must clearly state ethical approval details and informed consent procedures within the manuscript.
- Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship must reflect substantial intellectual contributions to the work, in line with ICMJE criteria. Individuals who do not meet authorship requirements should be acknowledged appropriately.
- Conflicts of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the work.
- Handling of Misconduct
Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE recommendations. Where necessary, the journal will publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern to maintain the integrity of the scientific record.
Generative AI Policy
The Journal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal recognizes that Generative AI (GenAI) presents opportunities and challenges in academic publishing. Authors, reviewers, and editors are encouraged to disclose any use of AI tools in the preparation, review, or editing of manuscripts. The journal expects that all AI-assisted content adheres to ethical and transparency standards, and that human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work. This policy may evolve as best practices and technologies develop.
